For many people this is through involvement with voluntary groups. Doncaster Voluntary Arts Network (DVAN) supports over 150 voluntary arts groups in Doncaster. The network provides support and advice on subjects ranging from funding to marketing, health and safety to performance opportunities. The network sends out a monthly mailing of useful information and holds a monthly meeting to give groups the opportunity to meet up and share ideas. The network is also responsible for organising Doncaster's annual Cultural Festival in July, which provides local groups and individuals with a chance to perform for the public and showcase their talent.
